I use this podcast to inform students of current events going on in the world. It works nice for background news when working on something in class. I also use it as extra credit. Students can subscribe to the podcast on their own itunes or borrow one of the school ipods to listen to the podcast and write a report on the news they hear in the podcast. Students like to listen because they know that it is something they have access to using their own technology. They have ownership in acquiring the source of the news. It is also popular because they can multi task when listening to the news, rather than reading it.
